The challenge

ABSOLUT celebrated its 30th Anniversary with the LGBT community. As the first spirits brand to openly embrace the gay audience for the past 30 years, ABSOLUT sought a creative digital strategy that would best engage with it's LGBT consumers.

The implementation

  • Absolut Outrageous Facebook application: www.facebook.com/absolutUS
  • Absolut Masterpiece – Absolut's iconic bottle was turned into a blank canvas to inspire creativity; audience votes for the most outrageous creation.
  • Rupaul's Drag Race – View and vote for the most outrageous moments from the most outrageous show on television from past and present seasons.
  • Outrageous TV – View iconic Absolut branded commercials.
  • Outrageous Tour – View photo's from various stops on the Absolut Outrageous tour.
  • Banner Ads – digital marketing campaign targeting LGBT community.

The results

  • Envisioned and executed a strategy that encompasses extended media channels to collaborate on content to maximize diverse engagement.
  • Created a multi-faceted Facebook dashboard that cohesively communicates ABSOLUT's branding and messaging while engaging a highly tech savvy audience. The initial execution need was for a six month activation which has now become a 24 month ongoing execution with continuous refreshing content. The opportunity allowed us to collaborate with LOGO Television, David LaChapelle, Amanda Lepore and 72 bar/lounge venues across the country serving ABSOLUT cocktails perfected. With over 5 Million views and/or impressions generated via Facebook and over 6 Thousand Masterpiece votes, we were acknowledged as the 2012 Premier Award Winner for Leveraging Influencers by Pernod Ricard.

Project / Sweeps Campaign

The challenge

In 2011, over 33 million Hispanics watched NFL games and an additional 10.4 million Hispanics watched with the Super Bowl, according to Mintel Sports Marketing; it was the most viewed season by Hispanics . The Tecate equity wanted to leverage Hispanic's passion for football and the natural drinking occasion that the sport presents via a multi-touch, cross-merchandise consumer promotion to ensure football fans have everything they need at a viewing party at home or a tailgating event.

The implementation

  • Short code procurement, compliance and activation.
  • Branded online sweepstakes/contest rules page.
  • SMS campaign activation with age gating rule.
  • Spanish translation: Content/Copy, Messaging, Call-to-Actions (CTA).
  • Leveraged existing client social communities.
  • Metrics capture and reporting.

The results

  • Implemented a text-to-win campaign that would draw 12 random winners weekly for 6 weeks straight before/during Super Bowl 2013 and during/after the Feb 3 first NFL play-off game. Some of the merchandise included were Tecate branded grills, tailgating chairs with speakers, coolers and other branded giveaways.
  • The call-to-action "Text TKTFOOTBALL to 83071" facilitated an age-gating feature that would ask the consumer to enter their date of birth and state to to be compliant with Tecate's CSR.
  • Via social channels the text-to-win campaign garnished over 250K+ impressions per posting in Spanish and English.
  • Random winners were notified via SMS and provided with prize redeeming instructions for 72 giveaways in total.
  • Engagement increased sales and consumer loyalty by connecting their favorite sport with their preferred beverage of choice. Brand awareness was greatly enhanced through a variety of branded miscellaneous sports minded giveaway items.
  • Analytics showcased engagement metrics involving: geographical location, carrier, consumer age and a never had 2,000+ m-database to engage in future mobile campaign executions.


T Mobile

Project / Challenger 2012 Tour

The challenge

Corporate restructuring & leadership changes led T-Mobile to develop a strategy which renews team energy and sustain market growth. The Challenger Tour (Challenger Strategy) consisted of live town-hall style events in nine cities and just under 10 Thousand attendees. We were set with the task of creating an experience where the attendees can engage with the brand live and in the moment, energizing the room building momentum around team spirit and T-Mobile Values.

The implementation

Live In-venue text-2-screen messaging application

  • Audience texts welcome messages and "shout-outs" during event walk-in
  • C-Suite panel held real-time Q&A sessions where audience texted their questions directly to screen
  • All Messages filtered by an on-site moderator
  • Seamless integration into AV board
  • Short Code & Email activation

  • Maintains anonymous messaging

The results

  • We created a T-Mobile branded "live" in-venue Text-to-Screen experience which we refer to as "Shoutbox."
  • The highly tech savvy audience instantly engaged anonymously during walk-in at the beginning of the session and prior toending, during the Q&A session with the C-Suite panel. We leveraged the Shoutbox to create "moments" while also promoting the Challenger Strategy and Showtime integration, demonstrating a clear attainable path to growth. Of the combined audience, 94% were engaged with the Call-to-Action allowing us to capture data and analyze sentiments by markets and individual cities. For the Q&A portion, questions unanswered by the C-Suite panel were also reported and has provided invaluable insight. The Shoutbox application received up to 1,000 text messages per minute.

Project / Dove - Mobile Promotional Campaign To Drive Retailer Sales

The challenge

Execute a national mobile strategy that would target the Hispanic community and drive in-store consumer product retail sales.

The implementation

  • Demographic and segmented market research on device usage Short code procurement, compliance and activation.

The results

  • Research indicated this demographic group is one of the highest engaged in mobile activity.
  • Executed the most universal (non-handset specific) way of engaging this demographic of users via SMS technology.
  • Users were able to engage by texting "Dove + zip code" to "83071" to find the retailer closest to them with the capability to execute another action for "next store."
  • Integrated program consisted of 500 Dove Salons where the "CTA" was present at "POS" and wash/treatment areas within the salon. The "CTA" drove traffic to over 4,200 retailers nationwide.
  • Impact increased consumer loyalty, sales and brand awareness.
  • Client metrics outlined a mobile database to further engage with its advocates; included carrier, mobile number, location (zip code) and time of engagement (time zone was also captured).
